Well, hunting season is over for another year. Props to my grandparents for leading us around and making some fantastic meals for us. It wasn't an unproductive hunt - Nick got a 4x4 white-tailed buck. I came home empty-handed, but I think it had something to do with the fact that we only got to hunt 1 1/2 days out of the 4 hunting days we've spent here. Yesterday, we couldn't even use our mule deer tags because we couldn't get into the zone to hunt - too much snowfall. Today (our last day) we had to cut it short again at noon because of huge winds and blowing snow. Here's what greeted us when we returned to the park after cutting up Nick's deer:

As always, we're making the best of a bad situation. It's a balmy -4C and the snow has just stopped, so it's time to spend a few hours in the hot tub before returning home tomorrow! Life is not half-bad, my friends ...

Dude! Allison & I just had company for supper (I did originally type dinner but then I heard your voice chastising me so I changed it to supper-I'm still Americanized in some ways, I know you'll forgive me)and we served the White Tail Chops and,....IT WAS DELICOUS!!! Thanks for the great hunting trip, even if only one of us tagged out;) Heads up to everyone else out there, we're heading out again in November 2007 so complete your Hunter Safety Course now -- http://www.saskhuntered.ca/ . You have no idea how much fun (even if we were snowed in for almost 2 days) and how many great meals you're missing! See you next November!
