And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack And you may find yourself in another part of the world And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful Wife And you may ask yourself-well...how did I get here? Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down Letting the days go by/water flowing underground Into the blue again/after the moneys gone Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground. And you may ask yourself How do I work this? And you may ask yourself Where is that large automobile? And you may tell yourself This is not my beautiful house! And you may tell yourself This is not my beautiful wife! Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down Letting the days go by/water flowing underground Into the blue again/after the moneys gone Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground. Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was... Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was... Same as it ever was...same as it ever was... Water dissolving...and water removing There is water at the bottom of the ocean Carry the water at the bottom of the ocean Remove the water at the bottom of the ocean! Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down Letting the days go by/water flowing underground Into the blue again/in the silent water Under the rocks and stones/there is water underground. Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down Letting the days go by/water flowing underground Into the blue again/after the moneys gone Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground. And you may ask yourself What is that beautiful house? And you may ask yourself Where does that highway go? And you may ask yourself Am I right? ...am I wrong? And you may tell yourself My god!...what have I done? Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down Letting the days go by/water flowing underground Into the blue again/in the silent water Under the rocks and stones/there is water underground. Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down Letting the days go by/water flowing underground Into the blue again/after the moneys gone Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground. Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was... Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was... Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
H/T: Talking Heads
Well, hunting season is over for another year. Props to my grandparents for leading us around and making some fantastic meals for us. It wasn't an unproductive hunt - Nick got a 4x4 white-tailed buck. I came home empty-handed, but I think it had something to do with the fact that we only got to hunt 1 1/2 days out of the 4 hunting days we've spent here. Yesterday, we couldn't even use our mule deer tags because we couldn't get into the zone to hunt - too much snowfall. Today (our last day) we had to cut it short again at noon because of huge winds and blowing snow. Here's what greeted us when we returned to the park after cutting up Nick's deer:
As always, we're making the best of a bad situation. It's a balmy -4C and the snow has just stopped, so it's time to spend a few hours in the hot tub before returning home tomorrow! Life is not half-bad, my friends ...
I'm on vacation this week - well, sorta. My good buddy Nick flew in from Toronto and we're in the Cypress Hills hunting some white-tailed and mule deer. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to do much hunting this trip because of the ridiculously cold weather. So far we've managed to hunt for about 1/2 day out of the 2 days we've been out here so far. It doesn't look like the weather is going to improve for a bit so we might be stuck.
We're making the best of a bad situation, though, and hanging out at the cabin enjoying all that relaxation has to offer. We're also enjoying some fine cuisine in the form of potato chips, chocolate bars, cookies, banana bread, cabbage rolls, and hot dogs. Here's a great photo of us doing up some dogos on the BBQ Zapatista-style in the Great White North:
This year's stay at the cabin is made even better by the addition of a hot tub and some high-speed satellite Internet, courtesy of Xplornet. We've also recently added an Internet cam to keep an eye on the place. Here's a photo of me posing for the camera:
Cross your fingers we'll be outside hunting tomorrow inside of playing games with Internet cameras and watching the original Star Wars trilogy on VHS!
Hey folks, I'm really sorry to distract you with a bunch of pointless stuff, but I need to get this off my chest.
There's been some anonymous douchebag leaving comments over the last couple of days to the last post I put up a month ago. I finally got tired of what he was doing and decided he was just a troll trying to waste everyone's time, so I removed his comments and my replies to them so no one else has to suffer through me feeding this guy.
Since I took them down, he sent me another comment accusing me of censoring him. For the record and for eternity, here are all the comments he put on the site for that post along with my replies:
It's good to see the mayor completely copy the CCFR platform within a month of the election. It's a good thing you didn't vote for those union loving policies. Sheesh! so much for I won't get fooled again.Comment from Mayor Quimby (-/64.110.213.33) on November 21, 2006 9:14:49 CST AMAnything else insane you'd like to anonymously say? How about "the US government was behind the 9/11 attacks!" to get you started?
It's easy to spout off a bunch of shit and then not sign your name to it. There's a word for it, too: cowardice.
Comment from Derek Burt (-/-) on November 21, 2006 10:53:17 CST AMSure is, but the point remains. Fiasco has copied the same platform he berated and ran against. Then sells as his own. I saw it coming, didn't you ? or are you still fooled ? Mel Lastman, anyone?Comment from Mayor Quimby (mayor@hotmail.com/64.110.213.33) on November 21, 2006 9:04:13 CST PMSeriously: you are insane. Please read that sentence again: I am telling you that you have lost all touch with reality and you are the only one that doesn't know it.
The election was over a month ago, dude; get over it. Mayor Pat isn't even in the news. The only "platform" he has adopted is the one in your head.
Comment from Derek Burt (-/-) on November 21, 2006 9:24:30 CST PMI'm insane, you can't even read a frickin paper. Fiasco not in the news, that would never happen. The man jumped in front of the Queen for as photo op. Read the council reports disclosure, Rathwell conduct,Accessability, and Youth Council. These are all CCFR planks and all adopted by council. You are so out of touch that you can not deal with the fact you've been fooled, mate! You support a political chameleon. Ever heard of Mel Lastman ?Comment from Mayor Quimby (mayor@hotmail.com/64.110.213.33) on November 22, 2006 8:18:06 CST AMDerek, since you now are censoring your comments. I know you have no credible agruement. Thanks for proving me right.Comment from Mayor Quimby (mayor@hotmail.com/64.110.213.33) on November 22, 2006 10:18:47 CST AM
I guess I have no "agruement". At least I can spell! Here are all the comments he put up from another post:
Yeah the man Fiacco granted hetero-sexual pride day for, then turned and changed his mind, after what? Public outrage? the only thing that works on this man, since he has no sense of right or wrong.Comment from Mayor Quimby (mayor@hotmail.com/64.110.213.33) on November 22, 2006 8:46:09 CST AM
Congrats, "Mayor Quimby", you have a voice! Yay! And I've been fooled! Really fooled! Boo!
He accuses me of "censoring" - guess what, buddy? You're crazy and I've already wasted a bunch of mine and everyone else's time with your bullshit. Not only that, but this isn't a sounding board for discussions about politics or otherwise - this is my personal website and I can pretty much do whatever the fuck I want with it.
Call it what you want, but you'll never post here again. To you and to anyone else who's a troll, allow me to wish you a hearty "Fuck you!".
Normal people - feel free to chime in.
UPDATE: He's still at it, but at least it's not here anymore.
