Re: Un-natural disaster
I attended the America We Support You Freedom Walk on the morning of September 11th -- http://www.defenselink.mil/americasupportsyou/freedomwalk/asyfreedomwalk . It was a privilege to be able to remember and honor the fallen. As I walked with the crowd past the restored west side of the Pentagon, it was not the memory of fire and destruction that broke my heart, but the dismal turnout of Washingtonians for the memorial event. The media claimed “1000’s” attended the event that day -- well, maybe 3000-4000 did so their claim is legit, but, I remember seeing more people at Edgefest in Saskatoon than were in the Pentagon parking lot last Sunday. There are 4.5 Million people in the D.C. Metro area. It’s sad how it appears that people have forgotten the past. Then again, maybe they had more pressing things to do -- like rooting for the Nationals who had a home game that day or taking in the Skins home opener that Jessica Simpson was scheduled to be shaking her ass at.

People only care about the latest disaster. Or the media, which is what reminds people, which amounts to the same thing.
