Thanks goes out to Access Communications for being fucking dicks and not installing cable for me because I don't have a drill letter from my condo association, after I waited two weeks for an install man to come when they told me I didn't need one. When I asked him to cancel the install order, he told me to call if I changed my mind. I told him to go fuck himself.

This website is going to be up and down today, mostly between 4PM and 6PM, because the cable man is coming and soon I will have cable television! No more poverty vision for me!

Greetings, folks! This is the first post on the newly-registered derekburt.com!

On Friday after work I picked up Brad at his place and discovered that Jerrod was also coming to Saskatoon with us. It was absolutely no problem but it would have helped if Brad wasn't such a fucking idiot and would have let me know about it. We stopped off for food and brews on the way out of town, which made the drive a lot more fun, although we did have to stop a bit for bathroom breaks. We stayed at Brad's parents' house for the weekend, which is a pretty sweet place in a great neighbourhood. We didn't do much more than drop off our things when we got there, though, because we had to head to the hotel for a little wedding hospitality suite action. Steve, his family, and Satan were the only people I knew there. Steve introduced me to his soon-to-be-wife, and she was smoking hot! Way to go, Steve! We enjoyed free alcoholic beverages for a few hours and then retired to Brad's parents' house and the hot tub for a few more alcoholic beverages - it was a good start to the weekend!

Saturday morning Brad's parents made us a kick-ass breakfast, and then I got dressed up for the wedding. It was held at the United church downtown, or as the sign read: UITED CHURCH. There weren't a ton of people there which was surprising, but the church was huge and gorgeous. My folks (who also drove up for the wedding) and I had a big laugh as the minister, a one Dexter van Dyke, was most certainly gay. Aside for that and the stupid idea to have the congregation say a vow too, it was a pretty cool wedding and all involved were beaming from ear to ear.

Me and my parents went back to the hotel between the ceremony and the dance. We had to chill in the hotel lounge for an hour because their room wasn't ready - at 3 in the afternoon! Once they got that straigtened out we went to the supper, which was held at a pensioner's hall in the southwest. The food was fabulous and I got to make a few acquaintances throughout the night which was good. I was MC'ing so I went through basically the same routine that I had done for Brad's wedding which went over pretty well. It was a small affair (around 150 by my count) and I didn't really know anyone there so I decided not to get plowed, even though drinks were $1.50. It was in a pretty shady part of town too so I didn't want to leave my car overnight. I called it a night pretty early and went back to Brad's parents' house for a bit of hot tub and beverage before watching some old SNL and hitting the sack.

This morning we were treated to another fabulous breakfast before heading out of town. We stopped at the gift opening (at the same hall) on our way out of town to say our goodbyes to the happy couple and friends and family. It was a good ride, mainly because we got to listen to the hilarious fumble-itous that was the Rider game on the radio. I was back at the condo around 5pm, just in time to get the laundry started.

I've got no plans for the next while until Thanksgiving, when I'll be going to Maple Creek to visit with family. There is a huge RCMP ball happening and a lot of relatives are coming into town for that and an anniversary so it will hopefully be a good time.

I have yet to archive the old posts from my site but hopefully I will get a chance to do that in the near future. I'll have to write a bit of custom logic to Pebble to get that working, so it might take a while.
